Smog
210!! AQI
I’m feeling burnt out. I’m on vacation yet I my days seem too busy. The thing about having boundless time is that you don’t feel the real push to move, which means you can waste a lot of time between one activity in the next. When you have no time, you pack everything in and hustle.
In short: I just want a day to do absolutely nothing.* I suppose that’s the problem with trying to work on your own stuff all the time, you never truly take a day off because you have stuff to keep up on and it’s up to you to motivate yourself. If you work a 9-5 (without take-home work), then you can stop thinking about work as soon as you sign out. Not all jobs, but you get what I mean.
Breakdown:
2.5 hours walking to and from the gym, lifting, showering, and eating.
Write for 3 hours, 2100 words, write 1 journal post, edit 1 journal post.
Yoshinoya (japanese fast food) twice within 2 hours
Chinese lesson for two hours
During the lesson, I learn that many people died today in the south of China today because of the heavy rains. They’re heading this way, so we’ll see how bad it gets. I wish I could have saved the videos that were sent on wechat, but I haven’t figure out how to do that yet. Just picture a child being washed down a street and a father snatching them from what might be certain death, another of bus driving down the street and causing a wave that crashes into surrounding buildings, and a final one of a man swimming in 1st-floor height water.
I wander to the Jiaozi place, which is closed, and end up getting a massage instead.
Tomorrow I plan to do more work, but maybe I’ll take the next day off.
Really want a nothing day.*
*To those of you who have kids and roll your eyes at this desire of mine, there’s a reason I don’t know if I want kids.
